L abour Chancellor must have his head as portrayed..
Beer Duty has risen by 72% since 1997 and all under our Labour Government !
Forget Working class,Working Men or Working Mens Clubs they are destined to become a thing of the past if not already so.Why then has he put the nail in the coffin of our social gathering places ?
Last orders are called with an average of 57 pubs closing their doors for good every month. (source The HuddersfieldExaminer)
Fair play to Samuel Smith who has done his best to absorb many of these increases over the past years, but the latest revenue increase of 4p (the largest tax increase ever applied by a chancellor on beer ) is going to be hard to stomach.
Coupled with extra road and fuel taxes which will all find its way down to be levied on to our favorite products Beer and ale.
